Working with Bombay Teen Challenge

by Josh on May.16, 2010, under Around the World, News & Updates

Fusion Ministries has an amazing opportunity to conduct a missions trip in conjunction with Bombay Teen Challenge (“BTC”) this summer. BTC’s primary objective is to rescue and rehabilitate destitute people living on the streets, particularly in the red light district of Mumbai. This includes women trapped in prostitution and other girls vulnerable to the sex industry; orphaned children afflicted with HIV and AIDS; as well as many others who are prisoners to the addictions of drugs and alcohol. Since 1990, BTC has been sharing the love of God with these people and providing them with the tools they need to live more fulfilling lives.

The Fusion team will have 6-7 people and will be in Mumbai from August 8th to August 18th. We will be hosting a VBS for an AIDS orphanage and leading Bible studies for the adult rehab centers. We will focus on building relationships with people who clearly have a desperate need to experience the freedom of a relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to show these people caught in the darkness of human trafficking and drugs that there is a God of hope and love that cares deeply about them.

Fusion Ministries would greatly appreciate your support for this trip. We ask that you pray earnestly for our team and the work of Bombay Teen Challenge. Please pray for our protection, discernment, wisdom, compassion and that God would do amazing things through His humble servants.

If you would like more information about this trip, email Sarah – sarah@fusion316.org.

Pop the Bubble

by Josh on May.04, 2010, under News & Updates

On May 14 we will be taking a look at what Christ says about how we as individuals and our churches should function in our communities. It is important we ask who is our community, how to expand our community and the importance of building relationships. Fact is, Christ built relationships with the rich and poor, the sick and healthy, the higher class and lower class. We need to do the same. Evangelism doesn’t just happen overseas, but needs to start at home. Join us as we “pop the bubble.”

Why Jesus Hates Religion

by Josh on Feb.15, 2010, under News & Updates

“Don’t go there. Don’t touch this. Don’t do that.” The Pharisees were first century followers of the religious rules and called others to do the same. Actually, they didn’t just follow the rules; they invented them. Their whole lives revolved around religion, performance, commandments, and obedience. You would think that Jesus and the Pharisees would be best of friends. They weren’t.

In fact, they looked more like enemies than friends. As you read through the Bible, you can’t help but notice that Jesus and these religious leaders were always at each other’s throats. Jesus saw them for who they were – men who knew the law but failed to love God. He was wise to their charade and exposed it whenever he could. His tone is fierce. Jesus cuts into these moral, religious men longing for them to abandon their religion and come to him in repentance and faith.

He asks the same from us. Christianity is not about being religious. Christianity is about being repentant – to be a people that hate religion but love Jesus.

Meant For More

by Bear on Dec.22, 2009, under News & Updates

One question that seems to have ravished the minds of so many in the world today is the question of meaning. Meaning that is not empty and shallow. Rather, one that seeks to answer moments of deepest doubt and obscurity. We have run to the halls of academia, become lulled by the intriguing theme of vain relationships, and sought religion to bring resolve to this question that ceases to echo in our minds and hearts.

Are we meant for more than what we hear, see, and think we know? Is there more to life than what we are living? If you have not yet been faced with such questions or are in the midst of them, we’ll seek to unravel some of the threads of this great and beautiful tapestry of the essence of life.

Religious. Indifferent. Skeptical. Curious. We invite you to come. You may just find what you’re looking for.

6:30pm, Friday, January 22, 2010 @ 315 E. Hunting Park Ave. Philadelphia, PA.

by Bear on Oct.08, 2009, under News & Updates

7:00pm, October 23, 2009The world we live in is constantly developing and growing. Science and technology has brought the world closer together than ever before and changed the way we think and interact with each other. So if the Word of God has never changed, and will never change how do we make it fit in our ever-changing world? Where does the Gospel fit in our world?

Engage with others on this topic on October 23rd at 20 E. Church Road, Elkins Park, PA. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Missions Trip to Trinidad & Tobago

by Josh on Jul.30, 2009, under Around the World, News & Updates

The missions trip was an immense blessing! Thank you to everyone who prayed and gave faithfully. God moved in the land in a powerful way, as the team was able to lead a VBS and tent meeting in the village of Kandahar during the week of August 2. The team was also able to visit two elderly homes and an orphanage, where they shared the love of Christ.
