Have you tried to tell someone about the love of Jesus Christ and sometimes can’t find the right words? Try taking them on the Gospel Journey.
G – God created us to be with Him
- God’s original plan was that you and I were in absolute and perfect relationship with Him and with each other in total unity.
O – Our Sins Separated us from God
- As a result of the sin Adam and Eve committed in the Garden of Eden, we are all born into the world with sin.
S - Sins Cannot be Removed by Good Deeds
- We cannot erase the wrong that we do by just being “good people.”
P - Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again
- Because the souls of humankind will always be tarnished because of sin, Jesus Christ was sent from Heaven to live the perfect life we could not live and died in our place, for our sin. The consequences of our sin is Death, but Christ stepped in for us.
E - Everyone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life
- Eternal life is that it is a free gift given to us by God through faith alone and not by any of our good deeds. Jesus paid the price for our sins when he died on the cross and all we must do is receive the gift of forgiveness through faith. When we believe that Jesus died for our sins and trust in Him alone we receive eternal life, are passed out of death into life and are guaranteed a home in heaven.
L - Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever
- Because Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead we will be with Jesus forever in heaven. When we trust in Jesus we enter into a personal, permanent relationship with God called “eternal life.”
If you have never trusted Christ for eternal life and it is something you would like to do right now, here is a sample prayer:
“Dear Father, I know that I’m a sinner. I realize that my good deeds will never get me into heaven. Right now I believe that Jesus died in my place for my sins. I trust in Him alone to forgive me for all of my sins. Thank you for your free gift of eternal life.”
